Wow, my first Pcomp blog from ITP. This might become some comedic blabble about my failures, but I'm sure I'll have fun reading it as much as you would. haha; Hopefully it won't become too tragic. :b
So..... Here I go. God help me through this journey

So I've opened the box. I'm assuming it's normal to be this messy.

I just laid everything out so I have a rough idea on what's what. Ok. Let's dig in.

So here -------------------->
is a very sophisticated looking chip-thing. I'm assuming this is the brain of whatever machine this is supposed to be.
And yee I think I'm right. So this is a Microcontroller. The Arduino Nano 33 IoT. I love that name, it makes me sound so smart. But I'm guessing this is just like a CPU or a GPU, a fancy name but there's tons to learn more about it. So this small thing will drive and process whatever I will be feeding him. Cute little guy. I like him already. Might name him Ardy for short. (I like naming machine-things. My sister's car's name is Sandy. It's a Sand color Santa Cruz.)

And this buddy right here should be a motor... I think.
It definitely looks like one of those motors from a fish tank. Except that it's not mossy and wet. Cool lil guy.
Yes. It is a motor. Haha, right so far!
So according to the website, I think this is a RC Servomotor, which will be used later in the semester if we want to get into motors. I think I'll def be playing with this guy. Seems like a good lil boy.

Super terrible photo, just took it from my Samsung Laptop. Ugh.
Anyways, so this red lil piece I think is also a part for the motor. It says this lil guy is a Motor Driver, and its name is ROB-14451? Yeah. Hi Rob. or maybe TB6612FNG. Yeah, definitely Rob.

And I have a few more parts I can identify.

So another chip kind of friend. It says Adafruit, hmmm. Assuming it's the brand? The logo is very friendly-looking.
Cool. Gotcha, I think this is either a sensor or another smaller microcontroller. Gonna google it real quick.
I'm back. Haha feel good to be right again! It's a sensorrrrrrrr XD
I'm having so much fun with this, hopefully this is what I'm supposed to do this week. Love the modern world we live in, just search anything and we learn so easily :3
So this Adafruit boi is a Flight Distance Sensor, according to Google, so I'm assuming it recognizes and senses its location in space, or recognizes movement from air. Or something like that. Looks and sounds pretty for sure. This lil girlly, I'm going to name her Ada.

And now to the big boys!
So the white chunky boii with so many holes, I've learnt that it's a breadboard. And the rainbow, wires. Familiar with those friends right there. Not the loaf of a breadboard, but the liiiines. You plug em in, and tada- it does the magic. Ah hah, just read they're 'Flexible jumper wires' they do look flexible. Can they jump though?
And not sure what the plate of metal does, but I'm guessing it'll help at some point.

And this friend right here, haha. Did not have a clue what this was until I saw the installed little project in the 4th floor front desk. It's a stripped down speaker!!!! Ah- couldn't recognize this at a glance. Excited to use this in various ways. I have so many speakers around me but never saw one this stripped down. Exciting :]

Hehe. And to the gadgets I fidgetted around with. So fun. Loved playing with these. Humans do love using hands.
So this is a... a long name,
A 10- kilo- kilo what?
10-kilohm poten- potentiometers. Wow that's gonna take me a bit of effort to put that in my head. Hopefully I can pronounce it right.
And the shorter greener boiis in the back are rotary encoders, and I think they're both input devices that can bring in rotation data on to the processor. And there are LEDs in the left bottom corner. Beautiful :D

Oooooooh I had so much fun with these buttons. Love them! I don't need any fidget items if I have these. So satisfying to play with!!!!
(Fidget Fidget) I've been clicking these too often XD

I've checked the Force sensing Resistor, USB C to Micro B Cables, and other smaller gadgets too. Some of them I recognize, and some of them I don't. Gonna dig into the docs and find out what they are.
Gotta admit though, the first page I landed on was the page about Microcontrollers, and I'm gonna be super honest, that gave me a headache..;;
Hopefully I'll be able to absorb all the info in by the end of class or something.
Gonna take this nice and easy, but I really want to be good at this. This is fun already!!!

Cool. So I'm wrapping this up, but I'll be diving into the docs now. I hope (fingers crossed) the assignment was not assembling these, because honestly I have no idea how this works yet.
So until I do! Next time, Blog! Ciao :)
May be there will be a Pcomp 1.2 that uploads between now and class ;D Who knows!
