Oh wow, it's already week 5! Scary how time flies.

So this week, we were learning about functions!

let writing;

function define(blogpost){

let code = words(computer);

let imagination = create(random(something));

blogpost = blogpost + code + imagination * writing;

}

HEH. I learn huh?

So being very fond of last week's sketch, I went back to last week's sketch to organize it & experiment with functions that return a value & are reusable.

Just like how you can make multiple flowers / robots following the Coding Train videos, I wanted to be able to make multiple versions of the random walk alteration, so I started exploring.

More of less screenshots this week since I was a little all over the place this week compared to others, (my mom visited from overseas and she's got my car towed yesterday) -> This is a whole other story. Haha

Anyways, below is a gallery of the variations of the sketch I created. I made two functions, one for the trail and one for the pattern. I enjoyed how they looked and varied, and played around with them. This was fun cuz it felt like I created an automated abstract painting machine. It was like abusing a painter to paint an obscene amount of paintings without actually abusing a painter.

Not perfect ofcourse, and if I had more time I would like to go back into the function and make varations of this pattern / walk, change the rotation of the walk functions, change the distributional patterns, and also take a dab into color & form variations, but for now I'm just going to leave it here.

It was an interesting week of experimenting and learning about functions though. I would love to go in and build something more constructive like this in the future.

And here's a link to my sketch:
