I come from a multicultural root. -South Korea, Australia, and the States- I am a first generation immigrant based in New York, sheltering from clashing identities.

 

I explore the gray areas that bridge the contrast, finding a voice for the unspoken in between. Often by commenting on my observations, I attempt to connect the in-connectable dots in an open ended narrative. Dissecting both broken and well-made systems, I challenge the perceived norm in hope to construct new answers.

 

As a collection of generational heritage myself, I put emphasis on entanglement within one’s identity, culture, and environment. I focus on detangling threads of logic, morality, and emotion. Circling around philosophy, perception, god, and literature, I try to find peace in the practice.

 

Pushing the boundaries of a given tool, a thought, a definition, I enjoy shattering a ready-made concept, challenging the perceived limitation of ideas and borders. I cherish the intricate pairing of Traditional Medium with life-mocking Movement and contemporary Technology -Animation, Kinetic Sculptures, Interactive Installations-. I see Art as a living, breathing thing that evolves with us.
